Since we started our company in 2002, emma gardner design, llc has been a proud member of GOODWEAVE USA. We knew from the outset that ours was an industry prey to the terrible practice of exploiting children, and wanted to be sure that we only worked with mills who had no part of it.
The fees our company pays as partners of GoodWeave ensure that random, surprise inspections take place at our looms, guaranteeing that our rugs are independently certified as child-labor-free. But they also go farther, helping to fund the rehabilitation and education of former child weavers as well as promoting and ensuring progressive work practices for the adult weavers.
When you purchase a rug from emma gardner design carrying the GoodWeave label, you can take pride in knowing that your rug is beautiful, inside and out, and that you have contributed in a small but measurable way to making the world a better and safer place.
