Traditional Japanese graphic flowers peek through a contemporary frame to create a pattern that spiritually reflects the artists’ outlook. Perhaps a manifestation of Gardner’s early personal journey from Kyoto to New York, certainly an extension of her love of layers and ellipses.
Glimpse Bar, features a band of silk flowers running over lantern-like silk orbs, and is, like a traditional Japanese hanging scroll, or kakemono, set in a plain ground to emphasize its quiet presence.
