about this design

In Tangled, Gardner’s inspiration returns to Abstract Expressionism, the post–World War II art movement in American painting developed in New York in the 1940s and 1950s. It was the first specifically American movement to achieve international influence and put New York City at the center of the western art world, a role formerly played by Paris. The movement, a response to the militaristic and fascist waves that dominated the globe for the decades preceding it, featured “action” and “spontaneous” work that paved the way for similar movements in literature (the Beat Generation) and food (nouvelle cuisine) that would capture the imagination of the entire world in the culturally rebellious decades to come.

A design bursting with energy, vitality and tension, Gardner uses color to modulate Tangled’s statement to deliver a design that can harmoniously connect diverse elements in a room or create singular interest and deliver focus to an open space.
